Today, I’m incredibly excited to announce that StayFairer is officially live.
StayFairer wasn’t born in a corporate boardroom, it was built from real-world frustration.
As a guest, I’ve watched prices balloon between search and checkout, paying steep service fees that never seemed to add any actual value. As a host, I’ve poured my heart into creating a great space, only to watch massive platforms take an unfair cut of the earnings. Having lived both sides of this marketplace, one thing became undeniable: the system is broken.
So, I built the platform I wished existed.
Because we don't answer to a board or profit-driven shareholders, our priority isn't executive payouts—it's our guests, hosts, and service providers. We also believe in supporting the communities that make travel possible. That’s why a portion of our subscription revenue goes directly to non-profits providing housing and services for the local workers who make our travel experiences memorable.
Somewhere along the way, the original promise of short-term rentals—skip the hotel markup, travel for less, and connect directly with hosts—was lost. It was replaced by creeping service fees, ballooning "cleaning fees," and hidden math.
We started StayFairer to fix that.
